The Role of Women in Combating Climate Crisis: Best Practices
Aleandra Scafacti has specialized in sustainability, climate change and green finance, with more than 50 projects implemented, for mitigation, adaptation, and compensation. She is the Founder and President of Ecomujeres Foundation, a space for education and information to empower women to lead the change towards sustainability. Ms. Scafacti leads the development of the Argentinian National Environmental Information Data Center. She led the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency of the City of Buenos Aires.
Academically, Ms. Scafacti is a member of LEAP, a global academic network for research and
education for sustainability, and of the Expert Review Committee of the International Academy of Management. She is a PRME Professor (Principles for Responsible Management Education by the United Nations). She chairs the Postgraduate Program “Environment and Sustainable Development” and the Postgraduate Program “Environmental Expertise” at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina. She has published 12 books and collaborated with shared editions on sustainability and finance. She participates in the Argentine chapter for ISO on sustainability, sustainable purchasing, social responsibility, compliance, and governance. Ms. Scafacti holds a master’s degree in social sciences and public policy from Milano Graduate School and Environmental Law and Economics from Carlos III of Madrid. Postgraduate in finance from Harvard University and in economic journalism from New York University.
